George got promoted. Could you?
George used to work within the Production team, but he’s just been promoted. His story is proof that most vacancies here are filled from within – which means this could not only be your next job, but the one after that as well.
You probably want to know what’s involved.
If you’ve worked within a Production environment for a couple of years elsewhere, you know what it takes. Reporting into the Production Manager and working alongside the wider Production Team, you’ll ensure that the product output in the Multi-spindle Lathe Department is consistent, as well as improving their processes & potentially reducing costings. Essentially, you’ll be someone who is very ‘Lean’ minded.
You’ll work in Mildenhall, Suffolk – it’s a busy town, but public transport is limited so you’ll need your own car to get there and back.
You’ll work as part of a team of Engineers, maintaining 16 Multi-spindle lathe machines and associated equipment. The machines themselves run 24/7 so some of your tasks will include diagnosing & repair these machines should they need it as well as train new staff on the use of these machines.
If you care about such things, you might like to know that the company are a growing force. Throughout the pandemic they’ve gotten busier & busier. They’re also a global business, which explains why there are plenty of opportunities to move on.
By the way, if you’re wondering if you need qualifications, don’t worry. Your personality is more important than your exam results. However, if you do have some experience with a range of tool room / work shop based machinery, that will help.
