Overview –Working for a Global mCommerce solution developer, i4 were asked to source their new Technical Director.

The Challenge:

The primary challenge we faced was successfully attracting and recruiting a high-level Technical Director with extensive experience in eCommerce, mCommerce, and native financial mobile solutions design, and who was prepared to relocate to Norwich. We quickly established that none of the local businesses would have a candidate of the calibre required.

The Approach:

The required candidate was clearly not going to be generated via traditional recruitment methods or the local marketplace. We targeted passive candidates nationally and internationally from competitors’ businesses, who would have the skills to be able to hit the ground running.

We built market research plans that looked across Europe for businesses that specialised in the same technologies and products. We identified all of the Technical Directors within these organisations and made direct approaches to establish suitability.

The Outcome:

We identified and made contact with a total of 12 potential Directors with relevant experience over a one-month period. This resulted in our client meeting with four suitable candidates and hiring one.The successful candidate was a UK citizen who we identified working for a competing business based in France.
